These terms apply to every purchase from Gobble Goblin through www.gobblegoblin.co.za. By placing an order, you agree to them. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECT Act).
1. About us
Gobble Goblin is a sole proprietorship owned by Kalen Campbell Aspden, based at 32 Umgeni Avenue, Greendale, Howick, 3210. You can reach us at gobblegoblins@outlook.com or 083 813 8063. Our full supplier details are on our Legal Information page.
2. Our products
- We describe each product, including its size or weight, as accurately as we can. Photos are a guide, and sweets may vary slightly in colour, shape and mix.
- Many of our sweets are Perfectly Imperfect: brand-name sweets with small cosmetic flaws, such as squashed shapes, uneven coatings or slightly off colours. Because this is disclosed before you buy, these cosmetic flaws are not defects.
- All products are subject to availability.
3. Allergens and dietary information
Important for anyone with allergies: our sweets are repacked into Gobble Goblin packaging in a facility that also handles nuts. This means there is a risk of cross-contact with peanuts and tree nuts, even for sweets that don’t contain nuts themselves.
- We do not recommend our sweets for anyone with a peanut or tree nut allergy.
- Depending on the product, our sweets may also contain milk, egg, soya, gluten (wheat) or other allergens.
- Please check the ingredient and allergen information on each product’s label and product page before eating.
- If you have any allergy or dietary requirement, contact us before ordering and we’ll help where we can. We cannot guarantee that any product is free from a particular allergen.
4. Ordering
- You can review your basket and order details, correct mistakes, or leave without ordering before you pay.
- Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when your payment is confirmed and we send you an order confirmation email.
- If an item turns out to be unavailable after you’ve paid, we’ll let you know and refund you for that item.
- If a product is shown at an obviously incorrect price because of an error, we’ll contact you before dispatch. You can then pay the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
5. Prices and payment
- All prices are in South African rand (ZAR).
- Courier delivery anywhere in South Africa costs R75 up to 5 kg, R110 up to 10 kg, R150 up to 20 kg and R200 above 20 kg, based on the weight of your order, and is shown before you pay.
- Payments are processed securely by Payfast. We never see or store your card details.
6. Delivery
- We deliver anywhere in South Africa with Bob Go courier.
- Orders are dispatched within 1–2 working days after payment is confirmed. Estimated delivery times are shown at checkout and may be affected by events outside our control, such as courier delays or public holidays.
- Please make sure your delivery address and contact number are correct. If a parcel is returned to us because of incorrect details or a failed delivery, re-delivery may be charged.
- Please store sweets in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight once they arrive.
7. Returns and refunds
Because our sweets are foodstuffs intended for everyday consumption that can deteriorate, the ECT Act’s 7-day cooling-off period does not apply to them (section 42 of the ECT Act). If your order arrives damaged, spoilt, faulty, incorrect or incomplete, we’ll replace or refund the affected items in line with the CPA. See our Refund and Returns Policy.
8. Your privacy
We handle your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). See our Privacy Policy.
9. Use of our website
- The Gobble Goblin name, logo, images and website content belong to Gobble Goblin and may not be copied or used without our permission.
- Please don’t misuse the website, for example by attempting to interfere with its operation or security.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the website or our products. This does not exclude or limit any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under South African law, including your rights under the CPA.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on our website when you place your order applies to that order.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
