Gobble Goblin respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through www.gobblegoblin.co.za, why we collect it, who we share it with and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
1. Who is responsible for your information

2. What we collect
- Order details: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, and the products you buy.
- Account details: if you create an account, your login details and order history.
- Messages: anything you send us by email, phone or WhatsApp.
- Newsletter: your email address, only if you choose to subscribe.
- Website data: basic technical information, such as your browser and the pages you visit, collected through cookies (see section 6).
We don’t collect or store your card or banking details. These are entered directly on Payfast’s secure payment page.
Your name, contact details and delivery address are needed to process and deliver your order. Without them, we can’t complete your purchase.
3. Why we use it
- To process, deliver and support your orders, including refunds and returns.
- To communicate with you about your order and answer your questions.
- To keep financial and tax records as required by law.
- To keep our website working and secure, and to understand how it’s used so we can improve it.
- To send you news and specials, but only if you’ve opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email or by contacting us.
4. Who we share it with
We only share what’s needed with trusted service providers who help us run the shop:
- Payfast, to process your payment.
- Bob Go and its courier partners, to deliver your order. They receive your name, phone number, email and delivery address.
- Our website hosting provider and website service providers (such as WooCommerce, Jetpack and MailPoet), which store or process data on our behalf.
Some of these providers may store or process information outside South Africa. Where this happens, we only use providers that are subject to adequate data-protection laws or agreements, as POPIA requires.
We will never sell your personal information. We may also disclose it if the law requires us to.
5. How we protect and keep it
- Our website uses a secure (SSL) connection, and access to customer information is limited to us.
- We keep order and financial records for as long as the law requires, generally five years for tax purposes, and other information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above.
6. Cookies
Our website uses cookies that are necessary for it to work, for example to keep items in your basket and to keep you logged in. With your consent, we may also use cookies that help us understand how the site is used. You can manage your choices using the cookie banner on our website or in your browser settings.
7. Your rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you and request a copy of it;
- ask us to correct or delete your information, unless we’re required by law to keep it;
- object to us using your information, including for direct marketing; and
- lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
